How To "Sell" Social Media To Your Team

Clip I had an article published in Campus Technology's The Journal publication the other day, and it's essentially a small piece from my recent eBook, There Is No Secret Sauce, shaped to fit the needs of grade school, middle school and high school educators. If you're having trouble "selling" the value of social media to your team, especially if you work in the public sector, the article is a great place to begin.

South By Southwest - My Pre-Game Top Ten

I'm pretty excited to leave for my first SXSWi conference in a little over a week. Six days in Austin also sounds really cool at this time of year, especially since the weather goes into the high '70s later this week. Without further ado, here's my list of what I'm really looking forward to:

10. The Digg Party - My friend Isabella said she could get me in, but I've still got my fingers crossed - not sure if I'm cool enough.

9. Sam's, Ben's, Long Branch's and Lewis's - I plan at eating at all four of the historic BBQ joints.

8. Mark Zuckerberg's Keynote on Sunday, 3/9.

7. The "How to Rawk SXSW: The Basics" Panel (since I'm a newbie)

6. Panel: "Mobilizing Generation 2.0"

5. Denise Shiffman's talk on her book, The Age of Engage (one of Google CEO Eric Schmidt's faves)

4. My bike rental from Bicycle Sport Shop - $119 for a whole week (BYOL - bring yer own lock)

3. The 3.5 hour direct flight from San Francisco (makes you want to move to Austin...)

2. The Elliott Smith tribute show at Emo's the night I arrive (with, oddly enough, Bone Thugs N' Harmony playing in the parking lot)

1. The super-cool A-frame apartment that I rented in South Austin (but I don't think the owner wants me to have my own BBQs there)
